-ABOUT MAX MARA

Founded in Italy in 1951 by Achille Maramotti.

The brand's innovative approach combines the quality of haute couture with the convenience of ready-to-wear, and the "101801" coat in particular is known as an iconic item.

  • Trendsetting fashion :
The fashion established by Achille Maramotti, based on high-quality materials, beautiful silhouettes, and skillful sewing techniques, has been supported by many women and has firmly established the brand's position.

    • Diverse line development :
In addition to the main line "Max Mara," he later launched several other collection lines, including "Sport Max" and "Weekend Max Mara."

-designer : Achille Maramotti

Achille was born into a family with close ties to fashion, with her great-grandmother running a high-end custom-made women's clothing store and her mother founding a dressmaking school.

After working as a lawyer until his 40s, he conceived a fashion business specializing in coats. With the mission of "transforming men's coats into iconic items for women," he started a business that could mass-produce haute couture-like coats by combining Italian tailoring techniques with trends, and established the Max Mara factory in 1959.

It overturned the perception that "fashion is handmade," which was deeply rooted in Italy at the time, and was supported by women who were ahead of their time.
