ABOUT motonari ono
・Established in 2006 by Motonari Ono.

-About Motonari Ono
Graduated from Mejiro Design College in 2002.
He then moved to England and enrolled in the London College of Fashion Foundation, graduating at the top of his class.

In 2003, he entered the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp.
In the same year, while still a student, he was scouted by Bora Aksu and dropped out of the academy.

In 2006, he returned to Japan and launched his eponymous brand "motonari ono".

Participated in Japan Fashion Week from the 08-09 A/W collection.

In 2010, he was selected as a finalist in the "MANGO Fashion Awards," the world's largest fashion contest.

October 2011: Received the DHL Award at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week TOKYO.
December 2011: Responsible for designing and producing the costumes for the Mercedes-Benz booth at the TOKYO MOTOR SHOW 2011.
February 2012: Presented his work in an installation format at LEATHER JAPAN during New York Fashion Week.
April 2012: Responsible for designing the uniforms for Kao EST at Shibuya Tokyu HIKARIE, which opened in April.
March 2013: Responsible for designing the reception uniforms for Shibuya Tokyu HIKARIE.

May 2013: Selected as the Japanese representative designer for the global competition INTERNATIONAL WOOLMARK PRIZE.

May 2014: Selected for the second time as the Japanese representative designer for the INTERNATIONAL WOOLMARK PRIZE.

He is also active as a freelance pattern maker and illustrator, and has designed advertisements for Mary Quant.
