Sacai is a leading Japanese fashion brand, founded in 1999 by Chitose Abe, a former pattern maker for Comme des Garçons.

Designer: Abe Chitose
After graduating from a vocational school, she joined World in 1987. When she took the entrance exam , she wore a black jumpsuit with lace frills that she had designed herself, and white shoes .
Although I was only active at World for two years, during that time I learned the basics of apparel and gained experience as a designer.
After leaving World, he joined Comme des Garçons, a brand he had admired since childhood. At Comme des Garçons, he worked as a knitwear pattern maker , creating one original design after another. Unlike his previous job at a major apparel company, there were fewer fixed tasks, so it was a "learning opportunity" where he was constantly honing his creative thinking.
However, in 1997, she discovered she was pregnant and left the company.
After that, she devoted herself to raising her children, and during that time she began thinking about how to make the clothes she wore more interesting, which led to the founding of Sacai. This later led to Sacai's brand concept of " design based on everyday life ."
He held exhibitions at his home and, despite not advertising, his reputation gradually spread among industry insiders, and in 2007 he was selected for the Mainichi Fashion Grand Prize , which is awarded to one person each year by the Mainichi Shimbun, and he became an instant celebrity. He also won the prize in 2015, becoming only the fifth person in history to win the Grand Prize twice.
